Royal Gurkhas Institute of Technology (RGIT) Australia (RTO No. 22088) and Vocational Training Institute have collaborated to offer RGIT’s VET FEE-HELP Programs. All students enrolled at Vocational Training Institute will be enrolled under RGIT’s VET FEE- HELP third party provider arrangement. Students however will liaise with Vocational Training Institute’s staff for all enrolment, course content and any feedback they may have with regards to course delivery.

All third party providers of RGIT courses are subjected to a stringent selection and monitoring policy. RGIT, however, remains responsible for the quality of training and assessments from any third party provider in compliance with VET Quality Frameworks including Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 and for issuance of AQF certifications documents. Accordingly, Award Certificates for all qualifications and Statement of Attainment will be issued by RGIT Australia exclusively.

Students will be advised of the course delivery locations at the time of enrolment and an integrity check will be conducted to ensure that students have received accurate and factual information from the partner providers about courses details and their student obligations including VET FEE-HELP debt obligations prior to the enrolment.

Vet Fee-Help Explained

VET FEE-HELP approved courses delivered by Vocational Training Institute are on behalf of RGIT Australia (RTO No.: 22088). RGIT Australia is an approved VET FEE-HELP provider. Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be awarded a qualification by RGIT Australia.

VET FEE-HELP is a Commonwealth loan scheme that assists eligible students to pay their tuition fees for higher-level vocational education and training (VET) courses (at the diploma-level and above) undertaken at approved providers.

VET FEE-HELP assistance gives you the option of:

  • Deferring all of your tuition fees, or
  • Paying some of your tuition fees upfront and deferring the balance.

There is a government loan fee of 20% per unit of study for all VET FEE-HELP loans.

Students must repay their VET FEE-HELP debt through the taxation system once their income is above the compulsory repayment threshold, even if they are still studying. The compulsory repayment threshold is adjusted each year. The threshold for the 2016‑17 income year is $54,869.

To enrol into a RGIT Diploma (or above) course, prospective students need to meet the entry requirements below:

Citizenship Requirements:

Student is:

  • an Australian Citizen; OR
  • a Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder* and who is a resident in Australia for the duration of their course; OR
  • a New Zealand Citizen that holds a SCV** and who is a resident in Australia for the duration of their course

Academic Requirements:

Students need to either:

  • Provide an Australian year 12 certificate; or
  • Complete CSPA test and receive exit level 3 or above;

Pre-Training Review Interview:

All students will be required to undergo a pre-training review interview to determine that student understands course requirements; that the course suits the student’s needs and aspirations; and that they have the skills and ability to succeed in their chosen course.

Age Requirements:

Students need to be 18 years of age or over

Tax File Number (TFN) Requirements:

  • Students must have a valid TFN; OR
  • If they don’t have a TFN they may provide a “Certificate of application for a TFN”, this certificate is available from the Australian Tax Office (ATO) once the applicant has applied for a TFN.

    And have not exceeded their FEE-HELP limit.

Computer Requirements:

Students are recommended to have access to a computer and a broadband Internet connection.

*on the Humanitarian Visa approved subclass list

** meets the requirements set out in the ‘VFH – Enrolment Procedure”

Course Description

This course is designed for adults wishing to develop their English language speaking, listening, reading and writing skills directly related to their immediate personal and social needs in addition to developing their relevant social, settlement and numeracy skills and knowledge. The purpose of this qualification is to prepare the student for participation in further English language study or vocational training which may include English language support or employment.

What are the Course entry requirements?

  • There are no prerequisite study requirements for entry to this qualification; however Vocational Training Institute will determine the entry point for the course by assessment of the student’s Listening and Speaking and Reading and Writing competencies to guide placement of students in the level appropriate to their proficiency in English language.
  • Vocational Training Institute requires that all students are over 18 years of age at the time of enrolment

Vocational Training Institute has a Student Complaint Resolution Policy o guide you through the steps you can take to resolve problems. Our process encourages students to be independent and effective problem solvers.

Before lodging a complaint

You should try to resolve the problem yourself before lodging an official complaint. We have a three step process to help you.

Step 1 - identify the problem and a solution

Clarify your problem and, if you can, think of some possible solutions. You can then approach the most appropriate staff to talk about your concerns.

Who to talk to:

  • academic - if your problem is related to your, you can contact your course coordinator,
  • non-academic - for problems not directly related to your study you can the student support service officers.

Step 2 - seek assistance

You have free and confidential access to our support services to assist you with your problem:

Step 3 - initiate action

Speak to the relevant staff member and try to work out reasonable and realistic solutions.

If you are unable to resolve your issue after using the three step process you can:

Appeals:

if you are dissatisfied with the decision about your complaint by a Vocational training Institute Officer, you may lodge an appeal by following the Student Appeals Procedure

The Victorian Ombudsman independently investigates complaints about RTO’s. They are impartial and do not act on behalf of students or RTO.

Policies and Procedures

Vocational Training Institute Pty Ltd delivers the RGIT's approved courses under the VET FEE Help program in it's campuses as well as Online/ Blended Delivery. These courses are available to domestic students eligible for VET FEE-HELP assistance only.

VET FEE-HELP

VET FEE-HELP is available to assist eligible students studying higher level vocational education and training (VET) qualifications to pay their tuition fees. Higher level VET qualifications are at the diploma level and above. VET FEE HELP can be used to pay all or part of an eligible student's tuition fees, but cannot be used for additional study costs such as accommodation or text books. Vocational Training Institute operates under the same policies and procedures as RGIT, and follows the appropriate education and legal compliance and regulatory frameworks as they apply within the state of Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania, NSW.RGIT provides the course content, monitor and supervise compliance requirements and quality of delivery. Students will receive an RGIT qualification after the successful completion of their course.
